2. Credit Licence
JLP Financial operates under the National Consumer Credit Protection Act 2009 (Cth). As a credit representative, we are authorised to engage in credit activities on behalf of our principal licensee.
3. Services We Provide
As a finance broker, we provide the following credit assistance:
- Helping you apply for credit products from our panel of lenders
- Providing information about credit products and options
- Comparing credit products from different lenders
- Assisting with loan documentation and settlement
We do not provide financial advice and do not recommend which credit product you should choose. The decision about which product is suitable for your needs is yours to make.
4. Lender Panel
We have arrangements with over 40 lenders across Australia. These include major banks, non-bank lenders, and specialist finance companies. Our panel allows us to offer a range of options for different credit profiles and asset types.
5. How We Are Paid
JLP Financial may charge an origination fee. Lenders may charge establishment fees and monthly fees. These fees will be clearly disclosed to you before you enter into any credit contract.
We also receive commission from lenders when your finance settles. This commission:

6. Commission Disclosure
We receive commission from lenders typically calculated as a percentage of the loan amount (upfront commission) and/or a percentage of the outstanding loan balance paid over time (trail commission). The amount varies by lender and product type. We will provide specific commission details for your loan before you commit.
7. Responsible Lending
We are committed to responsible lending practices. Before submitting your application to lenders, we will:
- Make reasonable inquiries about your financial situation, requirements, and objectives
- Take reasonable steps to verify the information you provide
- Assess whether the credit contract is not unsuitable for you
- Only submit applications where we believe you have a reasonable prospect of approval
8. Credit Checks
Your initial enquiry with us does not impact your credit score. However, when we submit a formal application to a lender on your behalf, the lender will conduct a credit check which will appear on your credit file. We only submit applications with your consent.
9. Privacy and Information Handling
We collect personal and financial information from you to assess your suitability for credit and to submit applications to lenders. This information is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy and the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
10. Complaints
If you have a complaint about our services, please contact us. We have an internal complaints handling process and will work to resolve your concerns. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may escalate your complaint to our external dispute resolution scheme.
